KNOXVILLE — Gatlinburg-Pittman and Northview Academy both participated in a cross country meet over the weekend with the Highlanders teams both placing in the top three.

Gatlinburg-Pittman’s boys’ team finished in third place overall behind Green County and Knoxville Ambassadors High, while the girls’ team also finished in third place behind Knoxville Ambassadors and Lenoir City.

Northview Academy came in sixth place in the girls’ race.

Leading the way in all races was Gatlinburg-Pittman senior Sam Fulton who came in fourth place overall with a time of 17:12.

Behind him, Gatlinburg-Pittman junior Adrian Nelka-Hernandez ran a time of 18:10 which was good for fourth place and junior Austin Patenaude came in 20th place with a time of 20:07.

Senior Jefri Sierra came in 21st with a time of 20:09, while junior Enzo Cameron rounded out the Highlanders finishers with a 46th place finish and a time of 22:42.

For Northview Academy, senior Ty Williams was their lone runner and he came in 34th place with a time of 21:44.

In the girls race, Gatlinburg-Pittman junior Stefani Johnson and senior Lily Stinnett led the way for the Lady Highlanders.

Johnson ran to a fourth-place finish with a time of 21:02, and Stinnett was one spot behind her with a time of 21:12.

Other Gatlinburg-Pittman finishers include: senior Emma Hamilton in 11th place, freshman Tillie Trentham in 14th place, freshman Amberlynn Greer in 23rd place, senior Meghan Heckman in 42nd place and sophomore Megan Ownby who came in 56th overall.

For the Northview Academy girls, sophomore Savannah Bates was their top finisher with a time of 25:20 which was good for 28th place.

Other finishers include: senior Leny Torres came in 32nd, sophomore Jenna Riley 46th, junior Kortlynn Brown 49th, freshman Camryn Brown 53rd, sophomore Macy Reid 59th and sophomore My Tien Evyanna Vo came in 70th place.
