KODAK — Northview Academy’s Johnny Webster has always dreamed of playing baseball in college, and on Thursday morning he signed with Motlow State Community College to fulfill his athletic dreams.
SEYMOUR — For The King’s Academy, they hope to build upon an 8-3 season a year ago where they made the DII-A playoffs but ultimately lost at home to Nashville Christian in the quarterfinals to end their season.
KODAK — Coming off a 4-6 season, Northview Academy is looking to take the next step in 3A Region 2. The Cougars are a part of the six-team region where four teams will make the playoffs, but Northview Academy has three of their five region games at home this fall.
GATLINBURG — Gatlinburg-Pittman’s football season opens with the first half of their season playing against teams coming off either a tough season or a really successful season.
PIGEON FORGE — Pigeon Forge is coming off a playoff berth a year ago, but they lost to rival Gatlinburg-Pittman in the second round of the 3A playoffs by a score of 14-7.
SEYMOUR — Seymour is coming off an 0-10 season in 2020 where they also had a COVID-19 forfeit loss to Knox Central, but a drop to 4A when the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association reclassed for 2021 and 2022 brings a ray of hope to the program.
SEVIERVILLE — Coming off a 5-6 season where Sevier County made the playoffs for the first time since 2017, the Smoky Bears have several new region opponents.
After playing in the Class A and AA state championship games respectively, Gatlinburg-Pittman and Sevier County were well-represented on the Tennessee Sports Writer Association all-state soccer teams.
SEVIERVILLE — Sevier County is coming off a sectional appearance in 2020-21 where they were 25-5 and one game away from making the state tournament, but Maryville beat them 56-27 to keep them from making it to Murfreesboro.
High school football season begins in about six weeks, and this season will hopefully be completely different from the pandemic-stricken 2020 campaign.
SEVIER COUNTY — Three Sevier County high schools were represented by eight athletes on the Tennessee Sports Writers Association all-state teams in track and field and tennis for the 2021 spring season.

TROY, Ala — Pigeon Forge’s Riley Franklin and Dylan Loy were the third and fourth players in Pigeon Forge school history to represent the school and play for Team Tennessee in the Southeastern Underclassmen Shootout, and they excelled helping the team bring home a gold medal.
SEVIERVILLE — Sevier County boys basketball lost three heavy lifters off last year’s team that went 23-9 and made the region tournament, but this summer they looked to reload.
