‘Cats, Lady Eagles split hoops series

The Oakdale Lady Eagles soared to dizzying heights against Oliver Springs en route to a 59-35 win.

Oakdale would take an early 14-7 lead in the first period before embarking on an 18-3 swing through much of the second period to eventually take a commanding 34-14 halftime lead.

The Lady Eagles would go on a 16-6 tear in the third period to take a 50-20 lead and cruise to the 59-35 win.

Boys Game

Defense was the name of the game on Tuesday night as the Oliver Springs Bobcats clamped down on the Oakdale Eagles en route to a 50-36 win.

The Bobcats took the early 11-7 lead at the end of the first period before going on a 12-2 tilt to start the second period before Oakdale rattled off seven straight points to pull within 23-18 at halftime.

Oliver Springs would pull out to a 35-25 lead at the end of the third period before pulling away for good down the stretch with a 50-36 win.

Kane Gouge and Ethan Jones (15 points each) led the scoring charge for the Bobcats in the win.

Kyle Miller (12 points) and Sydney Gregory (10 points) led Oakdale in the loss.
