Sister’s Market in Rockwood held their annual Pumpkins and Lattes event on Saturday, featuring food and clothing vendors, along with an ax throwing truck and a coffee truck from Knoxville.
“This is our fourth year, our 4th annual pumpkins and lattes event,” said Jessica Marine, co-owner of Sister’s Market. “Every year we grow. Our first year really selling produce we were trying to bring business in it. And it really kind of boomed for us, it was a really successful event. It’s kind of what started all of our events, was the first pumpkins and lattes event. And then from there we just kind of grew every year with different vendors. We try to change it up for each event, this year we have the ax throwing.”
The next event lined up for Sister’s Market is their ‘Lights and Lattes” event, set for November 26, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Other events held by sisters market include Lily’s and Lattes in the spring, as well as other spur-of-the-moment events throughout the year.
Among the shoppers at the event was Marilyn Calfee, wife of State Representative Kent Calfee.
“I was here last year, and it looks like it’s grown quite a bit since last year,” Calfee said. “The air was cooler last year, so today is wonderful. It should bring a lot of people out. I believe in supporting our local businesses. We have a lot of things going on here in Roane County, and I just believe in supporting them. Beautiful area, time to get out, wonderful people to reconnect with and talk and laugh and have a good time with. In East Tennessee you will not find a more beautiful place to live.”
