John D. Carr, 60, of Sevierville, and formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1962, in Knoxville. John was a member of Park West Church of God. He was a graduate of South Young High School where he excelled in long-distance running in track and field, participated in the Drama Club, and was an active member of the Debate Team. He was a graduate of Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John was a Security Guard for over thirty years. He was an avid follower and fan of UT Football. John was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by father, Carl Sharp; grandmother, Christine Sharp (Mamaw); and mother-in-law, Jean Hepler (Edward).
John is survived by his wife, Jenny Carr; daughters, Chelsea West (Brent), and Monica McCarter (Austin); sister, Carla Willard; brother-in-law, John Otter (Tammy); sisters-in-law, Becky Branum (Sherman), and Arthella Matthews (Michael); nieces and nephews, Carl Carpenter (Andrea), Michael Carpenter, Rebecca Burgener (Jeff), William Branum, Kayla Otter, Tyler Willard, Jessica Willard, and Kanon Willard; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
