James Ray Clabo, 79, of Sevierville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022.
Ray was a life-long resident of Sevier County. He loved his Lord and his family with all of his heart. He was a member of McMahan Baptist Church and attended New Era Baptist Church. Ray was a “jack of all trades”, having worked as a carpenter, a mill operator for Temple Milling Co. for over 10 years, and an operator/line supervisor for Harmon Automotive for 13 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, horseback riding, camping and had a love for all animals (God’s creations). His greatest joy came from time spent with his grandsons and sharing his love for the outdoors and their love for sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Trotter and Laura Clabo; sister, Wilda Grace (Till) Stott; brothers, J.T. Clabo, Ken Clabo, J.R. (Bucker) Clabo, and Jerry Clabo.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Billie Jean Rose Clabo; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Russell Clabo; grandchildren, Nick Clabo and Nathan Clabo; brother, Robert Clabo; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Clabo and son Wes Clabo; other family and friends, Kathy Price, Aaron Price, Katherine Ratcliff, Alexis Brogan, and special nephew, Johnny Carter.
The Clabo family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Kathy Price, for all she has done during this time and to our Three Bears General Store “family” for their love and support. Also, a special thank you to the UTMC Hospice Service Nurses.
