James Frederick Moroz, 76, of Pigeon Forge, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
Jim served several tours of duty in Vietnam while in the US Marine Corps and US Air Force. After his time in the military, he worked as an Air Traffic Controller. At one point he was a police officer with the Detroit Police Department. Then after his retirement, he taught an air traffic controller prep course at Walters State Community College.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Ace Moroz and Maude Elizabeth Maples Millard; and stepfather, Harry Millard.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Allison Moroz; sons, James Frederick Moroz Jr., Timothy James Moroz (Becky), and David Wayne Moroz (Lindsey); daughter, Tracey Moroz Itoney (John); grandchildren, Sarah , Elizabeth, Brendan, Matthew, Keara, Laura, Jimmy, Bryson, and Maverick; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Adalynn, and Emery; sister, Linda Carol Moroz Atchley; nephew, Marc; niece, Andrea; and many other extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special mention to his first cousin Wayne Pitsenberger who was like a brother to him, his wife Carol, and daughter Treicia Phelps.
