The Memorial Service for Marine veteran, Carlo “Sam” Sametini, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 25 at the East Tennessee Veterans State Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.

Sam, 71, of Gatlinburg, passed away on Dec. 2, 2020. Sam was a three-time recipient of the Purple Heart and many other metals and awards for bravery on the battlefield. He was a member of Fairhope Baptist Church, Fairhope, Alabama and attended First Baptist Church of Sevierville when he and his wife, Glori, retired to Gatlinburg in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Sametini Hempling; father, William Sametini; and brothers, Pierro and Marco Sametini; and step-brother, Butch Hempling.

Sam is survived by his adoring wife, Glori; daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Michael; grandson, Jackson “CJ”; sister-in-law, Charlene; and brother, Gino; step-brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Barbara Hempling. He leaves behind a great many nieces and nephews with the awesome responsibility of embellishing the memory of his life’s extraordinary accomplishments! Sam will forever be remembered as a Warrior Prince in the Marine Corps of our Lord.
