SEVIERVILLE — According to a Wednesday public notice, leaders of Tennessee State Bank plan to open a new branch in Sevierville. Members of the public have 15 days to submit written comments to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

The location is slated for 1824 Veterans Boulevard, Sevierville.

Approval decisions, according to the notice, are based on “a number of factors in deciding whether to approve the application including the record of performance of applicant banks in helping meet local credit needs.”

Tennessee State Bank currently has 14 branches. Most are in Sevier County, and there are three branches in neighboring Knox County. Branches are also located in Jefferson City and Newport. The Music Row branch in Pigeon Forge serves as corporate headquarters.

The chain’s community involvement includes support of Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains, Friends of the Smokies and Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

Those who wish to submit written comments should send them to Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, 1000 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30309-4470. For assistance, contact assistant vice president Kathryn Haney at 404-498-7298.

Any person who wishes to protest the application or make comments can do so with the Commissioner of Financial Institutions, Tennessee Tower, 26th Floor, 312 Rosa L. Parks Ave., Nashville, TN 37243. Those comments can also be made by phone at 615-741-5018 or emailed to debra.grissom@tn.gov or William.cook@tn.gov.
