SEVIERVILLE — Sevier County Fire Department responded to a residence in the area of Crossover Road and Old Newport Highway Wednesday morning on reports of a vehicle fire close to a residence.
While enroute to the fire, crews saw large volumes of smoke rising from the areas. The lieutenant on first due engine made the decision to request the next two closest mutual aid departments to respond.
Upon arrival, firefighters reportedly found a single vehicle fully involved with fire, and the fire had extended to a single story residence.
SCFD reported the crews deployed a 1.75 inch attack line to attack the fire. The crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire on the side of the residence and inside a single bedroom. Once the fire in the home was extinguished, crews turned their attention to the vehicle and got that under control as well.
