PIGEON FORGE — Police here are investigating a fatal shooting discovered on Sugar Hollow Road Monday morning.

Officers found 33-year-old Jeremy Lowe dead at a home in the 200 block of Sugar Hollow shortly after 6 a.m. Monday, according to information released by Chief Richard Catlett.

PFPD was dispatched to the location after getting a report of a shooting.

Detectives are in the early stages of their investigation, but have detained a person of interest in the case, Catlett said.

Sugar Hollow runs between the Parkway and Ridge Road. The 200 block appears to be closer to the Parkway, according to Google Maps.

PFPD was not releasing additional information on the investigation Tuesday.

It was the second shooting in as many months in the town.

Police are still looking for information on a nonfatal shooting at a home behind Boss Hoggs BBQ on Wears Valley Road.

Nineteen-year-old Evan McGahee, of Pigeon Forge, had been visiting friends at the house. He was in the driveway outside the home when he was shot, police said. Emergency responders took him to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, and he has since been released, Catlett said.

McGahee was not able to identify the shooter, and police are still investigating the case.
