SEVIERVILLE — The state didn’t report any new deaths from COVID-19 in Sevier County Wednesday, in a welcome change after the county recorded a record nine deaths from the virus on Tuesday.
There have been 99 deaths attributed to COVID-19 so far since the newly discovered virus reached Sevier County.
There were no new hospitalizations reported Wednesday either.
The good news continued as active cases dropped to 974, a decline of 13% over Tuesday’s total.
The state reported 40 positive tests out of 147 returned Wednesday, for a positivity rate of 27.2%.
