PIGEON FORGE — An Afton man who allegedly pulled a gun on housekeeping staff at a local hotel told police he was only trying to scare them, according to police reports.

Zack Sheets, 27, of Greeneville, was arrested at about 11 a.m. Sunday, shortly after the alleged incident.

He entered a room at River Place Inn in Pigeon Forge while the staff were cleaning it.

“(He) closed the door behind him and pulled out a loaded pistol, threatening the housekeepers,” according to the warrants.

Officers found him in the parking lot, still in possession of the handgun.

“Sheets stated that he wasn’t going to hurt them, just scare them,” the warrants said.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.

He was being held at the Sevier County Jail on Monday in lieu of $25,000 bond.
