KODAK — The FedEx Ground location at Kodak opened earlier this year and is in the midst of hiring new personnel.

“At more than 260,000 square feet, this new facility in Kodak, which opened in August, has the capacity to sort 12,300 packages per hour, and enables us to provide faster and more reliable ground service in the Kodak area and beyond — particularly as we head into our busy peak season,” said Bob Newman, Mid South District Managing Director, FedEx Ground.

“The site was chosen, in part, because of its ease of access to major highways, proximity to customers’ distribution centers and a strong local community workforce for recruiting employees.”

FedEx Ground officials said they are looking to hire more than 125 team members at their new Kodak facility in response to growing demand for e-commerce services, including their seven-day residential delivery.

“It is great for our community to have another Fortune 500 company like that and have that kind of investment from that type of company into Sevier County,” said Allen Newton, executive director of Sevier County Economic Development Council.

“We are very proud of that. It certainly will add a lot of great new positions Sevier Countains can obtain.”

Open positions are available for a mix of part and full-time package handlers with growth opportunities as the company continues to expand capacity in response to ongoing customer demand.

FedEx said they offer competitive wages with day, night and weekend shifts available. Benefits range from holiday pay to medical, dental and vision coverage as well as paid time off and tuition reimbursement.

The company also offers paid parental leave.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, but there is no minimum education requirement.

“FedEx Ground is dedicated to providing a meaningful and positive impact in the Kodak community through the strategic investment of our people, resources, and network. We are proud to serve the communities where our employees live and work through volunteer efforts and our relationships with local nonprofit organizations,” Newman said.

“Personally, I’m proud to be part of a company so committed to giving back to our communities. We are confident that we will continue to create economic opportunities through this new facility, and it is our hope and expectation that the local Kodak community is ready and willing to grow along with us.”
