PIGEON FORGE — Each season, Herschend Family Entertainment — Dolly Parton’s operating partner in Dollywood and the nation’s largest family-owned themed attractions corporation — hosts a corporate-wide event for management-level employees at all of its properties.
During the event, employees hear from inspirational speakers, learn skills to help them become better employees and managers, and take part in fun contests and events.
While this year’s event was held virtually with employees joining from their home work locations, many of the same traditions were maintained. Among those traditions was the presentation of the “Arrow Awards” to individuals and teams in recognition of special accomplishments from the previous year.
“To be recognized by our partners at Herschend Family Entertainment is very humbling,” said Eugene Naughton, The Dollywood Company President.
“Last year was challenging but our teams showed resilience and an insatiable desire to ensure our guests loved every moment of their time with us. These awards are not easy to win and illustrate just how hard our hosts worked to get us to where we are right now.”
The teams at each of The Dollywood Company properties worked diligently to bring guests back in a safe and thoughtful manner in 2020.
Additionally, all employees of the company were encouraged to develop new and innovative ideas to help guests enjoy their time at the park after its reopening in June.
The Dollywood Company teams won the following awards:
• Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa- Leading with Love Green Leaf Award, Host Green Leaf Award, and the Gold Leaf Award
• Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Cabins- Financial Stewardship Gold Leaf Award
• Dollywood- Strong Brands Award
The Arrow Awards are given to signify excellence in a number of categories.
The Leading with Love Green Leaf Award earned by Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa recognizes the strong guest service scores earned by the resort in 2020, while the Host Green Leaf Award highlights the high employee engagement and employee care scores the resort garnered in 2020. An impressive award to earn, the Gold Leaf Award comprises a number of guest and employee scores, coupled with other internal criteria, to represent the resort as “Best Overall.”
The Gold Leaf Award earned by Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Cabins reflects the positive financial results achieved in 2020 despite the challenges of the year.
Finally, the Strong Brands Award recognized Dollywood’s marketing team for its efforts across all properties to effectively convey several key guest-facing marketing messages throughout the year.
The awards themselves are actually made by Dollywood’s own master craftspeople.
Herschend Family Entertainment is committed to working daily to create wholesome, immersive entertainment experiences with soul and depth.
