State Sen. Ken Yager congratulates 15 communities in Senate District 12 for receiving a total of $7,206,954 in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) announced the grants in a release on Thursday. The CDBG funds will assist communities with infrastructure improvement, housing rehabilitations and health and safety measures.
“Congratulations to these communities. Local officials did a fantastic job securing sizable grants to improve infrastructure,” said Yager. “They identified the right needs in their communities and submitted professional applications. Many of these grant recipients have officials who attended my grants conference where they learned best practices for maximizing grant opportunities. The insight and hard work of these local officials are yielding positive results for their communities. I was proud to vote for the funds for these grants and write letters of support for the recipients.”
