Two annual traditions took place this past Saturday in the Christmas on Main Street festival and the Wartburg Christmas Parade.
The day started with Christmas on Main Street in an event that saw local vendors display their wares, various arts and crafts merchants, and a few food trucks.
After the Christmas market ended, it was time for the Wartburg Christmas Parade, complete with floats, lit up law enforcement vehicles and fire trucks and, of course, Santa Claus took time out of his hectic North Pole schedule to grace the community of Wartburg with his presence.
Following the parade, awards were given out to the best floats in each category. Winners included in the Non Commercial category, the Wartburg Central High School cheerleaders with Marla Hines and the Morgan County Fair in second and third place. In the commercial category, Cash Express would win with Heidle Farms and Auto and Truck Stop coming in second and third.
In the ATV/UTV category, David Betsiger and Alex Melhorn took home first and second place. Union Baptist was the leading church float with St. Paul Lutheran and New Life Apostolic Church in third place.
The Antique category saw Clark Tucker come home with the win, with Bill Shannon and Reagan Williams in second and third.
Jeremiah Johnson was the winner in the Horses category with Chelsey Aytes and Natalie Rogers behind him. The Street Rods saw Stacey Griffith get the win with Jade Brook and Logan Northern in second and third.
