“Maybe” you don’t believe in God. I cannot believe that anyone can doubt that there is a supreme creator, a God Almighty.
Again, I cannot believe anyone would think they were independent enough to trust in themselves for life’s answers and directions.
Then if you trust your life and your family’s life and their directions to “your” wisdom, I will be sarcastic here: How is it going for you?
I love The Lord. I surely am not perfect. I have been fortunate over the years to know Him, to call on Him for many problems in my life and my family’s “life problems.” Everyone has them (problems). Just as it rains on the just and unjust, problems come to all.
Sometimes we pray for things that do not happen for years. For example, I accepted The Lord when I was 19 years old. No one in my immediate family were Christians. Of course we prayed for my family. My mom accepted Christ eight years before she passed away. My dad wonderfully accepted Christ two weeks before he passed away (at age 84, which is a great miracle in itself.)
One reason I felt like writing this type of article today, is becasue just as world events are happening more rapid and closer together, so is the enemy of our soul, Satan, and all of his principalities and powers of the air are non-stop in creating havoc in people’s lives. It seems that many do not believe in God and His holy word or choose to ignore it.
It seems so many are making plans to build, travel, putting everything before preparing for their eternal future. Whether we live to be 75 or 95, what is that to an eternity in Heaven with God?
I heard it put plainer a few days ago than I ever heard it. The man said, “You are going to heaven or hell. You cannot stay here.”
Look around at this world and how far our country has come, they have absolutely gone backwards from what God intended. Our forefathers were on the right path. They started our great nation — America — based on God’s guidelines.
Although my family did not attend church or become Christians, as a child I visited churches occasionally. I remember hearing Hell preached on so strong that I knew I did not want to go there. When I accepted Christ, a burden was put in my heart. I did not want anyone to go there. I know there are some who try to compromise the gospel, think I am a fanatic. That’s OK. If they can go to heaven, doing or not doing some things, surely I can go if I try to follow Biblical guidelines. (You know Jesus is very plain on the “do-nots.” If we compromise His holy word, we better think again.)
I believe The Lord has given me the opportunity for 50 years to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the LaFollette Press because of my love for my family (wanting to see them come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and they might lose their life and not live to be 84, as my dad did, you must be ready.) It does matter how you live your life. Over the years, I have heard many say (if they were doing something they knew was wrong), “But so and so did it.” Or does it. That does not make it right. It does matter that we show or live a good example. The Bible calls it letting your light shine.
How can I title this message today? I have shared my heart, and how I feel. As I say, I surely am not perfect, but God is love and so forgiving. He only sees our heart. K
ing David was an example of that. Remember: I am writing this as a “faith article.” If you don’t believe it, it is not for you. But what if I am right?
God bless.
