CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Campbell County found its second year of helping Open Arms Ministry was a roaring success. CASA volunteers put out over 80 donation boxes (compared with 22 last year) and donated all the food gathered to Open Arms.
Three of the locations where boxes were placed asked to hold them longer as more donations were expected.
āIām so grateful for the community coming together like they did,ā said Jan Jones, CASA director.
The food drive was held earlier this year so the donated food could reach those in need before the holidays.
The mission of CASA of Campbell County is to advocate for abused and neglected children by providing them with a voice through trained volunteer advocates. These advocates ensure that each child receives the necessary services they need to be safe, cared for, and protected.
Open Arms Food Pantry, located at 1112 McGhee Lane in Jacksboro, provides food to families in need on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 2 p.m.
