General Sessions Clerk Connie Holt's death is under investigation. Emergency responders were at her Eagle View Drive home on Sunday evening. 

SEVIERVILLE — General Sessions Court Clerk Connie Holt died over the weekend, and TBI is investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, The Mountain Press has learned.

Few details have been released about the investigation, but multiple officials confirmed Holt’s death Sunday afternoon.

All questions are being referred to TBI, and the agency has confirmed it is investigating a death of a man and woman in the 1000 block of Eagle View Drive. 

Holt owns property at 1021 Eagle View Drive.

The investigation was just beginning Sunday evening, and no additional information has been released.

Holt was first elected to the position in 2002.

As general sessions court clerk, she oversaw records for criminal, civil, and juvenile cases in Sevier County.

Sunday evening, Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters announced general sessions court was canceled through Wednesday.

The clerk's office will be closed Monday.
