The Seymour Lady Eagles club lacrosse team announced this week that two of its players, recent SHS grads Erin Fine and Meagan Bryan, have been selected for the US Lacrosse High School All-Academic team.

According to the US Lacrosse nomination process, an All-Academic honoree is a player who exhibits exemplary lacrosse skills, good sportsmanship on the field, and represents high standards of academic achievement in the classroom. This player also should have left her mark beyond the lacrosse field and the classroom by making significant contributions of service to the school and/or community.

Both Fine and Bryan were 4.0 students at Seymour High School and selected among the class valedictorians.

Fine received a lacrosse scholarship to play at Tennessee Wesleyan, while Bryan will continue her education at the University of Tennessee.

“They are both tremendous leaders who should be extremely proud of themselves,” said Lady Eagles head coach Patrick Doyle.  “I think it is a testament to the Seymour school system that we are able to produce such quality individuals.  These two young ladies are have very bright futures ahead of them.”

The girls were two of 42 athletes selected for the All-Academic award statewide.

The Seymour lacrosse program started in 2012 and is currently playing the Tennessee Girls Lacrosse Association.  The team is made of solely of girls from Seymour High School.
