Editor,

The Smoky Mountain Cancer Support Group had a successful St. Patrick’s Dinner fundraiser for Relay for Life on Friday, March 15.

We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their assistance: Jane Howes, director of the Ft. Sanders Sevier Senior Center; Yutta Ogle, kitchen director; Steve and Pat Wright for shepherd’s pie; Shoney’s for beef and cabbage soup; Holston’s for salad; O’Charley’s for rolls; and The Creamery at Applewood for mint chocolate chip ice cream.

This made a delicious St. Patrick’s dinner that everyone enjoyed. Individuals who helped with set-up, ticket-taking and serving include Kay and Tommy Baker, Maureen Farawell, Dan Giammichele, Sue Gross, Jessica Hansbrough, Donna King, Carlene Maples and Steve and Pat Wright. Desserts were donated by Cindy Koontz, Carlene Maples, Jackie Reed and Ernestine White.

Silent auction items were donated by The Island Trading Post, The Fudgery at the Island, Timberwood Grill, Pigeon Forge Phoenix Theatre, The Olive Garden, Big Lots, Eye Designs Optical, Firehouse Subs, Judy and Ray Golden, Carlene Maples and Alice Grady.

The Cancer Support Group appreciates all who attended this event and donated time or silent auction items. We look forward to seeing you at our next fundraiser.

Sincerely,

Alice Grady,
