Letter: Dr. Whiton thanked for making her dream a reality

I just wanted to take this time to express our thanks to Dr. Alan Whiton, orthopedic surgeon, for bringing his expertise to make it possible for me to walk.

I was at a local nursing home for five years due to a stroke. It affected my right arm and leg. Because of this, both my hand and foot became limp and contracted. I was unable to stand, much less walk. I became depressed and discouraged after I was told from a couple of other orthopedists that there was nothing they could do for me.

When all of the odds were down, Dr. Whiton stepped in and did corrective surgery. Now I am so proud to say that I am standing on my right foot again and receiving physical therapy to get me walking again. So thanks from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Whiton, for making my dream my reality.
