Letter: Safe Harbor thanks 5K sponsors, participants

Editor,

On behalf of Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of The Comedy Barn Theater and Fee-Hedrick Entertainment for designating Safe Harbor CAC, along with the Cherish the Child Foundation to share the proceeds of their First Annual Kickin’ Chicken 5K Run/Fun Walk held in Pigeon Forge on August 31.

Their entertainers and employees, plus the many volunteers they recruited staged a seamless and fun-filled 5K. We are thankful for the great turn-out by the community in support of this first annual event.

Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, a non-profit agency, relies in great part on community support and private donations to continue the important work we do serving children who are victims of severe neglect, physical and sexual abuse through prevention, education and intervention.

We are so very thankful to everyone who planned, worked, volunteered, donated and participated.

Thank you for your support on behalf of the victimized children we serve.  It was a great fun and a personal highlight to participate and finish the race with Dr. Brenda Tweed of Cherish the Child Foundation.  We are already looking forward to next year and hope that many more of you will come out and join in the fun in support of the deserving children in our community!

For the children,

Donna J. Koester
