Letter: Water department shut off service despite her payment
I paid my water bill in Gatlinburg on the first of December 2012. They came out and shut my water off. They said they never got the payment.
I paid it with my credit card. I called the card company and they sent me a paper showing where the payment had been made.
I paid the bill again last month, and when I took the paper up there to show them this, they still refused to take the reconnect charge off my bill.
I wonder how many other people have been done this way by the Gatlinburg Water Department, or Sevierville Water Department for that matter. This needs to be investigated and stopped, especially for people like me who are older and on fixed incomes.
