Women’s, men’s job corps deserves community support
LETTER TO THE EDITOR
The article on Monday, Nov. 5, written by staff writer Robbie Hargett was a great article. The Sevier County Christian Women’s and Men’s Job Corps is a great service to Sevier County that needs to be brought to the attention of our residents here.
There are so many people that would love to better themselves by furthering their education with getting their GED and learning computer skills and are unable to, due to financial reasons. This organization should be praised and supported. There are few places today that someone can go and receive the kind of help that is given here, and with no charge to the people.
It was stated in the article that $1,300 was raised with the yard sale that weekend – which is great. But it would also be great for the people of Sevier County to continue to donate to keep this program going strong.
A big thank you to the Sevier County Association of Baptists and to Ed and Dorothy Adams and all the volunteers that donate their time that make this program successful. We should all appreciate this type of organization that benefits others as greatly as this does. We would benefit greatly if there were more people that cared about the needs of others as this group and other non-profit groups in our area do.
Please show your support for this and other organizations that work to better others, whether it be with a better education, home life, health, etc.
Once again a big thank you for the article Robbie Hargett wrote and for the all the hard work of the volunteers at CWJC/CMJC.
