Reader: National park wasn’t governors’ idea
Regarding the letter from Jim (Steitz, July 16), you have to feel sorry for him and his beliefs!
I suppose from his thinking that everything is fine. His disdain for the tea party, and The Mountain Press, is showing in his writings and thoughts. It might be him that needs the political and spiritual self-exam.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park was not a governors’ idea. Maybe he did not know that. We are blessed to have it, and he is right that it does generate a great deal of money and jobs.
He might be local (take that either way), and he appears a mind-reader to boot, but he should not be reading the local paper if he finds it so bias, much less writing a letter to the editor.
