Letter: Golden Corral raised $6,500 for DAV
Each November Golden Corrals across the country participate in a celebration of our veterans.
Military Monday is not just a free meal for veterans, but also a time of fellowship and honor. If anyone drove by either of our Golden Corral locations, you were surely astounded at the lines throughout our parking lot and wrapped around our building.
At Golden Corral in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, we served nearly 1,000 veterans and their families in a five-hour span. Through selling raffle tickets and collecting donations we raised over $6,500, and all of that money will be donated to our local DAV Chapter.
We would like to recognize and thank some very special people who helped us during this year’s celebration:
Denise Hurst (Neesee) and Adam Calvert for providing their musical talents
Local Boy Scout Troops #110 and #119 for helping everyone find their seats and working so closely with our staff
Tony from Anthony’s Electric for displaying his authentic military Jeep
Raffle Prize Donations: Creations by Janine, Dollywood, Lumberjack Feud, Ober Gatlinburg, Ripley’s Attractions, Riverwalk Apartments, Sherri Gray – Mary Kay, Sugarland Cellars, The Island, The Tennessee Smokies, and Titanic
The biggest thank you goes to our nation’s veterans! We were honored to host America’s finest on Monday and honored to be a part of such a loving and generous community. For more information about Golden Corral’s commitment to Military Appreciation, please visit www.goldencorral.com/military.
