Letter: Veterans care crisis goes back further than current administration

Editor,

I'm not a big fan of our present president. There are many people blaming him for our veterans problems. Here's the truth, like it or not.

I've been trying to help homeless families for over 24 years in Tennessee. We try to get the vets to Johnson City for help. We stay there until we make sure these great people are cared for.

In Johnson City there are people whom are very nice to the vets. But there people that should work in the prison system. These people are rude and, to me, don't care for the vets or anyone else. That's how it is all over the U.S.

These rude people are the ones that just want to complain about everything. The homeless vets do more for me than I could ever do for them. The Veterans Administration has been messed up for more years than I can remember. There are vets that say they get good care. Thank God for that. But the vets I help served their country and come home and could not adjust. Their memories are still in combat.

There are people in all ways of life that are extremely good and caring. But in the same manner there are people who wouldn't cross the street and offer a needy person a cup of coffee.

If people insist on complaining about everything and blaming other folks about the world's problems., find a mirror and ask the face looking back at you and ask what you can do to make it all better around the world.

Put God first then all things will be clear.
