Letter: Appalachian Relief founder says thanks for all the help

Editor:

On behalf of Appalachian Relief, thanks to all those who donated toys and money for food and especially to all those who are praying for this outreach.

In these hard economic times, we were so pleased that so many people dug deep into their pockets to help the less fortunate in rural Appalachia. Times have been twice as hard for these families. It was heartwarming for us to be able to give them a wonderful Christmas.

Not only were the families in Scott County taken care of, but because of your generosity we were able to help a lot of families in Kentucky. This gives them a sense of knowing they are loved too.

It has been wonderful what we were able to do this year because of your help — not only now, but all year long. Hunger knows no seasons. Because of your donations, we will be able to purchase food through Second Harvest all year.

A special thanks to Editor Stan Voit and Community Editor Gail Crutchfield of The Mountain Press for your help.

Thank you all, and may God bless you.
