Letter: New Center School says thanks for support

Dec. 14, 2013 @ 11:07 PM

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for (New Center Friends) support of New Center School. We raised $7,105 at our annual auction. The money will be used to update classroom computers and to purchase a parent messaging system.

A special thank you is extended to Corky’s Barbecue in Pigeon Forge for their generous contribution for the dinner. The New Center Parent Advisory Council coordinated the dinner. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the many businesses who donated items for the auction. Our auction committee did a wonderful job getting items for the auction. Donations from parents, students, teachers, and members of the community made the classroom baskets great again this year.

The auction would not have been possible without our auctioneers, Todd Thompson and Dale Carr from Thompson, Carr, and Associates. They donated their time to auction our items. They did a great job. Marc Robertson, Nathan Robertson, Gary Loveday, Brad Loveday, Doran Huskey, John Oxford, Kathy Reagan and Alana Owens also assisted with the auction. Everyone seemed to have fun while raising money for a worthwhile cause.

I appreciate the continued support from our community. New Center School is an exemplary school due to the support from students, teachers, parents and members of the community.
