Letter: Leadership has success with Leadercast

May. 20, 2014 @ 06:38 PM

Editor,

Our Leadership Sevier organization is proud to serve almost a thousand adult Leadership Sevier and Leadership Tomorrow members and over 300 high school graduates from Smoky Mountain Youth Leadership programs. Our primary goal is to introduce, inform, inspire, and involve them in proactive, meaningful ways to benefit Sevier County.

On May 9 we sponsored an all-day Leadercast streamed live from Atlanta and featuring nine well-known speakers as role models of what we strive to accomplish with our programs in Sevier County. Over 100,000 people world-wide participated in this superb event. Many of our members and other active leaders from area business reveled in a day of enrichment and encouragement to grow as involved leaders. We anticipate an increase in our local attendance for May 8, 2015.

I want to thank some key people who were instrumental in presenting this day of leadership excellence. Kelley Fowler suggested we sponsor it and forged the way to our success. Kelley was one of two rock-star leaders of the day, the other being Janice Bettis who is an Energizer powered leader. Jo Ann Holland provided the administrative support so critically needed. Several local businesses helped make the event work better for our participants: Sevierville Civic Center, Chef’s Catering, Food City-Gatlinburg, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, The Mountain Press, Petree Designs and Mountain Fresh Hospitality.

Thanks for considering this letter.
