Letter: Relief group seeking space

May. 29, 2014 @ 03:53 PM

Editor,

On behalf of the Appalachian Relief Fund, I am asking for your help.

Appalachian Relief Fund is a registered charitable nonprofit organization dedicated primarily to relief efforts in areas of east Tennessee, Scott County and areas of Kentucky with high poverty and unemployment rates.

My mission is to provide food, clothing, school supplies and gifts at Christmas for these families in rural Appalachia.

I am able to do this because of all your donations.

Since 2007, when I established Appalachian Relief, it has more than tripled. Therefore, I am in desperate need of more storage space — the building I have now is not big enough to meet the growing demand for everything.

I am asking anyone who could help with another storage building or the labor and materials to add to the building I now have.

Your donations are tax deductible and every dime collected goes to relief efforts.

Please help me to continue helping those who are less fortunate. Thank you and God bless you.
