DAYTON, Tenn. – Robert Lee Cover, age 52 of Dayton and formerly of Gatlinburg died Saturday evening, August 3, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Robert was born in Knoxville on February 15, 1961 and was a graduate of Rhea County High School class of 1979. He had been employed as both a cook and manager at restaurants in Dayton and Gatlinburg. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Dayton and enjoyed fishing, hiking, reading and writing.
He is survived by his father, Jim (Sandra) Cover and his sister, Christy Cover both of Gatlinburg, niece, Lindsay McCown, great-niece Grace Kenny, cousins, Robert Morgan and Jerri Morgan all of Dayton, Anna Weber of Coral Springs, FL and his aunt, Dr. Helen Morgan of Dayton.
Funeral services with military honors for Robert will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Charles Livermore officiating. Graveside services and burial will be Thursday morning at 11:30am at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
