GILMER, Texas – Funeral services for James Wilson, 80, will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church in Upshur County with Reverend David Thornton officiating. Interment will be in Grice Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Wilson passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Wilson was born March 2, 1933 in Frost, TX to James Hardy and Mabel C. Smith Wilson. He was retired from the Box Factory, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Wilson of Gilmer; sons, Jimmy Wilson of Crandall and John Wilson of Arlington; daughter, Kay Reddoch of Kirbyville, TX; sister, Mildred Cantrell of Kirvin, TX; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Wilson; parents; and sister, Faye Patterson.
Pallbearers will be Josh Pierce, Jake Edwards, Josh Edwards, Charlie Sikes, David Sterling and Tim Cantrell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Delbert Dollar, Glenn Ferrell and Travis Young.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
