Johnny Leonard Evans

Johnny Leonard Evans, age 73, passed away on January 28th 2013. He was born on March 23rd 1939, to the late Harrell and Violet Dawson Evans.

He graduated Thomas More College in Kentucky then received his Masters Degree Xavier University. John coached and taught at Lockland High School in Lockland Ohio. In 1965 he joined the FBI where he served for 24 years until he retired. After retiring he stayed busy by becoming City Manager of Pittman Center, Dean of Walter State Criminal Justice Department and Head of Sevier County Drug Task Force. John also was the author of two books and a member of the Law Enforcement Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Alberta Abney Evans; son, Matt (Krissy) Evans of Gatlinburg, TN; daughter, Jill (Eric) Fudge of Springfield, TN; grandchildren Haley and Dillon; and sister, Lois Acus of Sharonville, OH.

There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 12 o’clock CST at the Oakland Church Cemetery.

A celebration of life will follow at Oakland Farms Clubs House, 3733 Legacy Drive Springfield, Tennessee 37172. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Joelton, 7106 Whites Creek Pike Joelton, Tennessee 37080 and Gatlinburg Pittman Football Program, 150 Proffit Road Gatlinburg, Tennessee 37738 or donations can be sent care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, TN.
