Joan J. Sink
Joan J. Sink, age 96 of Sevierville, the “love gift” to her family and friends, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013. “Goodness and Mercy” have welcomed her to her new home in Heaven. She lived humbly, faithfully, and peacefully. Born in Germany in 1916, “Johanna” came to America with her family in 1923.
She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and lifetime Indianapolis friends, where she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, Indiana. After moving to Sevierville from Indianapolis, she resided at the Widow’s Ministry Center on Park Road. She was a praying grandmother to her cottage of boys. She considered her beloved friends at the Center to be “sisters in the Lord” and appreciated Judy and the Nichols family, her special friend Annie Stokes, the Peacock family and all the workers and helpers for their dedication to the Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. The family expressed appreciation to Sevier County Health Care Center for their care and concern.
Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Sophie Stolzenbach; her husband of 53 years, Ralph K. Sink; her daughter, Sandra Kay Reedy; her sisters, Katherine Bolger and Betty Thompson; and her son-in-law, Don A. Rothgeb.
She is survived by daughters: Patricia Rothgeb Palmer and husband Jack, of Seymour; Barbara Woycke and husband Stephen, of Florida; grandchildren: Kurt Rothgeb of Sevierville; Kristen Rothgeb Rohrer and husband Gary of Maryville, Mark Reedy and wife Suzanne of Daleville, Indiana; Denise Reedy Shellabarger and husband Rick of Anderson, Indiana; Jason Woycke and wife Elyce of Seattle, Washington; Luke Woycke and wife Sonia of Fairfax, Virginia.
There will be a private memorial service at the Widow’s Ministry Center Chapel. Memorial gifts may be given to: The Widow’s Ministry Center, 509 Park Road, Sevierville, Tennessee 37862 or to First Baptist Church, Sevierville, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, Tennessee 37862.
