Mark Wilson Boyles
Mark Wilson Boyles, 50, of Sevier County, Tennessee, passed from his home on this earth to his heavenly home on August 12, 2013, following a valiant fight against colon cancer.
Mark was one of those people that everyone liked. He was friendly, thoughtful of others, easy-going and had a great sense of humor. He kept a great attitude even through the tough times of his illness. He will be missed by his many friends, family members, co-workers, customers of his business, the many members of the medical community who provided such great care during his illness, and last but certainly not least, his three Westie furkids.
Mark was born to Odell and Rachel Boyles and grew up in Wanilla, Mississippi. He lived and worked in Mississippi, graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College with an accounting degree, was employed with Tynes Gas Service and as a lineman with Entergy. Mark moved to Tennessee in 1998 where he worked for the City of Pigeon Forge and operated his own gas business. Mark loved living in the Smokies and enjoyed camping and being outdoors.
Mark loved and valued his family greatly. He was preceded in death by his father, Odell Boyles, and brother-in-law, Greg McCaffrey. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gwen Boyles; mother, Rachel Wilson Boyles and brother and sister-in-law Donnie & Lynn Boyles of Wanilla, MS; sister, Gayle McCaffrey of Friendswood, Texas, and many extended family members.
The family extends gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Kristie Young and her staff at U.T. Family Physicians and Dr. Allan Grossman and staff at University Cancer Specialists for the care they provided during Mark’s illness. All were considered friends by him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Mark favored and supported Friends of the Smokies, , Westie Rescue of Tennessee, and the American Cancer Society.
