Rush Parrott, age 81 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, and was a lifetime deacon. Rush was an Army Veteran and served in Korea.
He was a member of the Sevierville-Sevier County Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Parrott; son, Tommy D. Parrott; parents Victor and Pearl Parrott; brother, Cline Parrott; nephew, Kevin McCarter.
His survivors include his daughter, Patsy Ogle; sons, Bill Parrott and wife Sonya, Jimmy Parrott; grandson, James Parrott and wife Sara; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kaden; sister, Pauline Lindsey; brothers, Bob Parrott and wife Bobbie, Paul Parrott and wife June; brother-in-law, Ed Douglas; sister-in-law, Charlotte Proffitt and husband Don; several nieces and nephews; extended family at Atchley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers. memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Sevierville, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862 or Sevier County Volunteer Fire Department, 122 Prince St.
Funeral service, 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Sevierville, with Rev. Dan Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Alder Branch Cemetery. Military honors provided by American Legion Post 104. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
