Arthur Edward Baker
Arthur Edward Baker, age 80, of Kodak, passed away Saturday November 9, 2013. Born in Morris, Illinois, on May 28, 1933. While married to Thayer Hiller for 18 years Debra and Todd were born. He attended Joliet Jr. College, North Central College, and Northern Illinois University graduating with a BA and MA in education. In 1965 he began teaching at Zion Benton Township High School. While teaching he met and married Trudy Greenlee-Anthony and married her in 1971, and became second father to Cory Anthony-Copen. After 28 years as a guidance counselor, He became a born again believer in 1990 at the age of 59. Art retired and moved to Tennessee in 1991. He and his partner, Jorge Mazzoni developed a 15 site mobile home community in the Boyds Creek area in 1993. He was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association and enjoyed volunteering at Seymour Heights Christian Church and Live-It Ministries.
Survivors: Wife: Trudy Baker; Children: Debra Weiner and husband Arthur, Todd Baker and wife Joanne, Cory Copen and husband Rudy; 20 Grandchildren; 20 Great-grandchildren; Sister: Bonnie Ederati.
A memorial service will be held 6 PM Friday at Seymour Heights Christian Church with Pastor Harold Keck and Rev. Jim Knowles officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, 122 Peacock Ct., Seymour, TN, 37865 (865) 577-2807.
