Clarence Houston Moore, age 83, of Seymour, passed away, Thursday July 4, 2013. Born November 9, 1929, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later on retired from the City of Knoxville Fire Department after 36 years of service. He was also a member at Meridian Baptist Church for 55 years.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Newman Moore; father, James Earl Moore; and step-mother, Bess B. Moore.
Survivors include his children, Steve Moore and wife Patricia, Debbie Longmire and husband Danny, Tim Moore and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Randell Moore and wife April, Chris Longmire, Billy Longmire and wife Tina, Isaac and Meredith Moore; great-grandchildren, Houston and Owen Moore, Vada and Ava Longmire; brother, Victor Moore and wife Nancy; sister, Virginia Berkley and husband Charles; cousin sister, Juanita Courtney; and many other special cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him.

Funeral service is at 7 p.m. Saturday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Pastor Dana Fachman officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Meridian Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865 (577-2807).
