Dr. J. E. "Doc" Lee

Dr. J. E. “Doc” Lee, age 84 of Sevierville, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013.

“Doc” Lee was the veterinarian in Sevier County for over 50 years. He moved to Sevierville with his wife Antrice in 1955 and opened his animal clinic on Bruce St. In 1959 he moved his animal hospital to Old Newport Hwy where he retired in 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Antrice McHargue Lee; parents, James and Carrie Mae Lee of Alabama; brother, David S. Lee; sister, Charlotte Walters and husband Jack; wife, Bess Rolen Lee.

Survivors include his sons, Mike Lee and wife Mary, and David Lee; daughter, Teresa Lee Camba and fiancé Jeff Plumlee; grandchildren, Ian and Antrice Camba, Blair Lee, Chris Lee and wife Anna; great-grandchild, Levi Lee; sister, Carrie Mae Scogin of Monks Corner, SC; special friends and employees, Pam Pope, Linda Burnett and Beulah Sutton.

His family would like to say thank you to all of his clients. He loved his profession and his hobby of taking care of the special pets of Sevier County.

Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Sevierville with Rev. Bobby Ely and Rev. Bruce Adams officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Monday at the church.
