Charlie Jackson Ogle
Charlie Jackson Ogle, age 94 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, September 05, 2013. Charlie, “Papaw” to his family, was an honest and generous man with a mischievous sense of humor. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving his country in Europe, and proving his place as a member of the “the Greatest Generation”.
He took great pride in his profession as a stone mason, and his work can still be seen throughout the Southeast. His work will endure as a testament to his hard work and skill.
Mr. Ogle is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Varnell Shultz Ogle; grandson, Ron Ogle, II; and granddaughter, Tammi Ogle.
Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Doug Huffaker; Son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Barclay Ogle; Grandchildren: Debbi Waldroop and husband Jeremy, Cindy McFall and husband Chad, Amy Anderson and husband Perrin, Robin Ogle; Great-grandchildren: Ron Ogle, III, Zachary Ogle, Tori Ogle, Whitney Huff, Bradley Huff, C.J. McFall, Caylin McFall, Sophie Anderson, Tess Anderson; Sister: Mattie Flynn; Childhood sweetheart: Lucille Watson.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the staff and administration of Ft. Sanders-Sevier Nursing Home for their loving care.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Drew Henry will officiate. Interment 10 AM Monday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
