Kathleen Faye Newman Brewer, 75, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at her residence in Gray, Tenn. She was a native of Jefferson County, but grew up in Sevier County. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Ola Ellen Carr Newman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Brewer; sister, Hazel Hill; and brothers, Roy, Earl, and Wiley Newman.

Kathleen attended Central Church of Christ. She was a very caring and giving person always making family the most important part of her life. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to travel and loved all kinds of animals.

Those left to cherish Kathleen’s memory are her daughters, Vickie Miller and husband Wayne, Kimberly Loveless; son, Scott Brewer and wife Denise; grandchildren, Crystal Lawson and husband Tommy, Dwana Brewer, Keia Keeling and husband Charles, and Rachel Miller; great-grandchildren, Roslyn Lawson, Zachary Lawson, Cheyanne Lawson, DeAnn Self, Dawn Self, Deawna Brewer, and William Keeling; brother, Johnnie Newman and wife Ruby; sister-in-laws, Ezalee Newman, Ann Brewer, Nell Moody and husband Charles, and Catherine Farris; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend: her dog Rosie.

The family requests the honor of your presence for a Celebration of Life service for Kathleen on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City with Mr. Tim Hall, minister, officiating. The family will greet friends to share memories from 5 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. A graveside and committal service will be held on Thursday in Washington County Memory Gardens at 11 a.m. Active pallbearers will be Zachary Lawson, Tom Lawson, Charles Keeling, Jimmy Greene, Mike Hurt and Dennis Miller. Wayne Miller will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Ronald Hunter and his staff, and also to Kathleen’s hospice nurse, Nina for the loving care they provided.
