Kenneth Joe Quindry, 71, went home to be with the Lord, on June 10, 2013. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served his country for 20 years in the US Navy. He was retired from the Knox County Sheriff's department as the Chief Jailer after 30 years, where in retirement he said "He would not miss the work, but would miss all the people he worked with". He was an avid golfer and loved his retirement years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Brown; father-in-law, James "Foch" Whaley; mother-in-law, Evelyn Lou Whaley; grandson, Armani Quindry. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Jane Quindry; father, Kenneth E. Quindry and wife Mary Katherine; step-father, Jim Brown; sons, J. Scott Quindry and wife Shari, Brad Whaley; daughter, Shawn King and husband Marc; sister, Judy Taylor and husband Jim; brother-in-law, James T. Whaley and wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law; Karen Gibson and Debbie Cardwell; grandchildren, Carrie Quindry, Jessica Quindry Pearson and Mitchell Pack, Brandon Quindry, Whitney Whaley, Alec King, Bryson King, and Lily Whaley; Great-grandchildren; Preston Quindry, Sierra and Brayden Pearson, and Braylon Palmer Whaley. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 11-1pm at Highland South Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 1pm, with Rev. Frank Sellers officiating; the graveside services will immediately following with Knox County Sheriff's Department along with full military honors, at Highland South Memorial Park. 9010 East Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920.
