Elbert Mitchell Rollins, age 85, of Hartford, passed away, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital.

He was a member of Grassy Fork Church of Christ. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Belvin and Iva Rollins; step-mother, Ruby Rollins; brother, J. B. Rollins; and sister, Opal Ellison.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Minnie Rollins of Hartford; daughters and sons-in-law, Iva and John Langer, MI; Cathie and Wilson Messer of Hartford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Izzy Rollins of Georgia, Ted and Brenda Rollins of MI, and Terry Rollins of Morristown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Artha and James Moody, of Newport, Reba Green of North Carolina, Wanda and Ron Seals of Sevierville and Alma and Kenneth Green of Newport; grandchildren, Susan Trosin (Rick), April Krussell (Kevin), Captain John R. Lange, III (Erin), Jason Messer (Amanda), Brian Messer (Anita), Stephen Messer (Selena) and Kenny Messer; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Ella and Violet Trosin, Hailey, Marissa, Abby, Audrey and Bradley Messer; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Grassy Fork Church of Christ, with Wilson Messer officiating service.
