Douglas Lylburn Heinsohn
Douglas Lylburn Heinsohn, 80, died August 6th, 2013, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augereau Gray and Margaret Lylburn Heinsohn, his brother Richard, and his first wife Paloma. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Grubbs Heinsohn, children Catherine Margaret Hamrick, Richard Douglas Heinsohn, Kirk Lylburn Heinsohn, Tappan Vickery, step-children John David Nelson, Elizabeth (Keith) Alderson, and Leigh (Mark) Anderson, grandchildren Jeremiah and Joshua Hamrick, Raymond Vickery, and step-grandchildren Christopher, Samuel, and Abigail Alderson, and Jacob and Summer Anderson.
The family extends gratitude and appreciation to Paula Tennant, Mohanna Karlekar, M.D., and the medical staff at Vanderbilt Medical Center for their care and compassion.
A memorial service celebrating his life was held Friday, August 9th at Saint Peters Episcopal Church, Columbia, Tennessee at 5:30pm. His remains will be interred at Bryant Cemetery at a later date.

A modern day Don Quixote, Doug’s passions and accomplishments were many. A US Marine, author, priest, professor, statesman, entrepreneur, farmer, hunter and expert marksman, he inspired many living a principled life steeped in his love for God, Family, and Country.
