Sevier Lodge hosted its third annual open classic car show, yard sale and breakfast on Saturday.

For Danny and Glenda Ellis from Pigeon Forge, along with a handful of their closest friends and family members, attending car shows is something they enjoy and do together frequently.

The group of seven set up their tent and parked their vehicles before 7 a.m., getting a jump start on classic-car enthusiasts, admirers and yard-sale browsers drawn to the event.

"We usually go to a car-show or drive-in about every other weekend," Glenda said.

"We owned (classic cars) back in the day, and now it's become a hobby," Danny said.

The group has been attending various shows for about seven years. They agree that it doesn't seem so long ago when these were the cars commonly seen along the streets of Sevier County.

"Most of the shows we attend benefit a charitable cause," Glenda said. "Of course the one today is for the Mason Lodge."

The camaraderie is what the group enjoys most about the car shows. "It's just a chance to hang out with our buddies and do something together," Danny said.
