Holiday of Hope pageant set for Dec. 8 at civic center
SEVIERVILLE — The Mountain Press Relay For Life team will hold its fourth Holiday of Hope pageant on Dec. 8 at Sevierville Civic Center and crown the winners for the year 2013.
The pageant is the team's major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and includes divisions for girls and women from infants through age 25, plus a special division for cancer survivors over 25 years of age. All cancer survivors in every category can enter the pageant free of charge, others can enter for a minimum of $25.
Entry fees include the base fee of $25, plus $5 each for any of the six additional categories open to contestants. The additional categories include: Photogenic, Prettiest Eyes, Best Smile, Best Personality, Prettiest Hair and Best Dressed. Photographs are required in advance for those entering Photogenic and Prettiest Eyes categories.
New to this year's event is the opportunity for contestants to enter to win one of two Supreme titles. The Supreme Princess title is open to girls in divisions ranging from infants through age 9. The Supreme Miss title is open to girls ages 10 through 25. The winner of each title will receive a large crown. The entry fee for the Supreme title contests is $10.
T-shirts will also be offered again, with orders accepted from contestants and family for $10 each.
An additional fundraiser is the Ambassador of Hope contests, with participating pageant contestant competing for the title by selling ad space in the pageant program. The single contestant who sells the most in advertising for the pageant will win the title of Ambassador of Hope and receive a special plaque for their accomplishment and their photo on the front page of the program. The deadline for Ambassador of Hope entries is Nov. 23.
All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Sevier County. All checks should be made out to the American Cancer Society or The Mountain Press.

General admission the day of the pageant will be $5. Santa Claus will be in attendance for those wishing to have their picture made, with Thomas Photography donating proceeds to Relay For Life. Hartstrings will present three fashion shows throughout the day.
