A pair of men leaving the Lowe’s Home Improvement store with some power tools without paying allegedly brandished a gun at a clerk who tried to stop them, and now the police are trying to find them.

The robbery happened at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, when a clerk saw the two men carrying the tools toward the exit.

“An employee requested to see a receipt for the items and one of the men allegedly lifted up his shirt and displayed a gun in his waistband and said ‘here’s my receipt,’” said Bob Stahlke, public information officer for the Sevierville Police Department.

The men left the store in a black BMW, Stahlke said.

“At this point we’re investigating, and that’s all we have to release at this time,” he said.
